some pen to paper ... and a warm chord or two

Potentially, I could have my work cut out with this page, although it's nice to have an outlet and quite satisfying putting things up this way. It must be the journalist in me. A flickering flame...

Well you have to find something to do when you retire.

John Nye and Steve Beer - Steve and I would get together every Wednesday to play. We did this for 5 years, from 1992 to 1997. I'm still wading through the tapes, dozens of them. Oh, how we suffered for our art - now it's your turn!

Julius & Ethel [v.1] [Dylan] - recorded 6 March 1996

Viola Lee Blues - recorded 16 July 1997, with James Bolton on harmonica

Down In The Flood [Dylan] - recorded 19 April 1995

Sad Clothes & Gestures [Reprise] [Nye]

Sad Clothes & Gestures [Nye] - recorded 20 January 1997

Farewell To You Baby (Carl Martin) [No Matter How She Done It (Tampa Red)] [arranged by Nye, Beer] - recorded 27 January 1997. This song came about because I opened a blues guitar book and used the lyrics of the song on the left-hand page for the verse and the lyrics of the song on the right-hand page for the chorus. Everything about this song was improvised. We only played it once.

Shake It (Wherever It Is) [instrumental] [Nye, Beer] - recorded 27 January 1997

Hand In Hand [Nye, Beer] - recorded 22 June 1994

Gilraen [Nye] - recorded at Geoff's [Hi Geoff!], on 23 March 1994. That's him tinkering away in the background towards the end.

Angie [arranged by Nye, Beer] - recorded 9 April 1997

Country Dance 2 [Nye, Beer] - recorded 14 November 1996

World Gone Wrong [Vinson] - recorded 17 September 1997

Sovay [trad.] - recorded 23 March 1994

Bethany's Tune [slow] [Nye] - recorded 5 January 1995

Bethany's Tune [Nye] - recorded 2 March 1995

Instrumental [improv.] - recorded 17 September 1997

Mind Your Own Business [Hank Williams] - recorded 19 March 1997
