Allen Purvis   Allen Purvis organised the exhibition at the University Library as a tribute to Bob Dylan on his 60th birthday.
     
Case 1:
"Important words" - Dylan's own writings... and drawings, including "Tarantula", "Lyrics" and "Drawn Blank", together with "Poem to Joanie" and "XI Outlined Epitaphs".

Case 2:
"My life in a stolen moment" - Dylan biographies, from Sy Ribakove's "Folk Rock Story" to Howard Sounes' "Down The Highway", including Scaduto, Shelton, Spitz and Heylin along the way.

Case 3:
"Come writers and critics" - Literary criticism, including Aidan Day's "Jokerman", John Herdman's "Voice Without Restraint", works by Betsy Bowden and Stephen Scobie, and not forgetting Michael Gray's masterwork "Song and Dance Man III".

Case 4:
"It's just something I learned over in England" - a selection of books dealing with Dylan's visits to the UK, starting with the BBCs "Madhouse On Castle Street", and including "The Circus Is In Town" and John Bauldie's "Ghost Of Electricity".

Case 5:
"Well, I investigated all the books in the library" - Collector's bibles - some reference books, including "Positively Bob Dylan", "Tangled Up In Tapes" and "Recorded Dylan".

"And the newspapers, they all went along for the ride" - Fanzines, including "The Telegraph", "Dignity", "Freewheelin'" and "Homer, the slut".

Case 7:
"You're gonna have to serve somebody" - Religious themes, including Stephen Pickering's studies on Jewish mysticism, Heylin's "Saved - the gospel speeches of Bob Dylan", and other works on Dylan's conversion in 1979.
