Intro and outline of the night's agenda from John Nye  ●  We remembered Bucky Baxter, slide guitarist in Bob Dylan's touring band for over 750 shows, who died on April 25, aged 65; and also Michael McClure, beat poet and Dylan contemporary, who died on May 4, aged 87  ●  Chris Cooper led the discussion on the soon-to-be-released new Bob Dylan double album 'Rough & Rowdy Ways'. Song titles and album personnel were discussed and Garret Baker added detail to the Irish connection to the story with his account of meetings he had with Dylan's band and crew during the time of the Ardmore Studios recording sessions  ●  Chris Cooper on Jack Savoretti and his writing of the song 'Touchy Situation' with Bob Dylan [see interview here and official video here]  ●  John Nye continued the story of Coronavirus and its impact on Bob Dylan's touring schedule - the Japan tour and now the US tour have both been cancelled. rom John Nye  ●  We remembered Peter Green, blues guitarist and co-founder in 1967 of Fleetwood Mac, who died on July 25 aged 73; Pete Hamill, a prominent New York City journalist and novelist, who also wrote the Grammy award winning liner notes for Bob Dylan's 'Blood On The Tracks' album. He died on August 5, aged 85; and also C.P. Lee, who was a musician, author, broadcaster and lecturer from Manchester, UK, who died on July 25 aged 70. He was also a friend to many at TCBDS and also contributed to the Freewheelin' magazine and also spoke at, and performed at, several of our John Green Day annual Bob Dylan conventions that were held from 2001 to 2006  ●  Nancy Cobb remembered Tara Zuk, moderator and agent up at the Dylan Facebook groups Edlis Café and Edlis Parties & Gatherings, who died recently. She also edited several books about Bob Dylan. Donations in Tara's name to Ovarian Cancer research can be made here  ●  John Stokes and 'If You See Him, Say Hello'  ●  Rough & Rowdy Ways - dissection time: Part Two. He was a long-time friend of The Cambridge Bob Dylan Society and attended our ZOOM Bobchat meetings. He was also a regular attendant [sometimes with his daughter Mags] at our pub meetings in Cambridge. As a tribute to Graham we played a video of his favourite Bob Dylan song 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right', from Bournemouth, 1 October 1997  ●  Chris Cooper on the latest Whiskey edition of Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour. He was joined by Kathy Fortier, administrator of the Facebook group 'Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour'  ●  We heard from Kathy Fortier's husband Jerry about the time he saw Dylan in concert in Chicago, 1963 [not at The Bear but at a concert hall, auditorium], where Dylan blew into the microphone when he sang 'Blowin' In The Wind' and joked: 'that's the meaning of the song'  ●  Rough & Rowdy Ways - dissection time: Part Four. John Stokes led the discussion and continued the track-by-track analysis  ●  Richard Stokes and 'Blood On The Tricks'  ●  The Dylan view from Down Under. Zac Dadic reviewed Gypsy Fire's self-published book 'Chillin With Bob Dylan'; and also strongly recommended Emma Swift's new album 'Blonde on the Tracks'. His favourite track is 'One Of Us Must Know (Sooner Or Later)', listen here  ●  Early Dylan: Chris Cooper on the chronology of Bob Dylan's early bands while living in Hibbing, Minnesota. She will talk further on her visit at our next meeting in December  ●  Live music: Emma Swift joined us from her home in Nashville, Tennessee, and performed four songs from her new album of Bob Dylan covers 'Blonde On The Tracks', accompanied on guitar by her partner Robyn Hitchcock [see picture left, taken during her Bobchat performance]. Intro and outline of the night's agenda from John Nye, including a vote and discussion on the TCBDS online pre-Christmas get-together on December 17, starting at 8.30pm London time  ●  David Palmer introduced a new feature, 'If Your Memory Serves You Well'  ●  Jim Johnson on Bob Dylan concert residencies - the sixth in the series, looking at the three shows from Philadelphia, December 15-17, 1995. She was joined by Chris Cooper who spoke about the Bob Dylan tapes included in the auction  ●  Chris Cooper led the discussion on the new Bob Dylan copyright extension 3CD set 'The 50th Anniversary Collection: 1970'  ●  Chris Cooper and Craig Jamieson on the recently surfaced stories surrounding the 'Bob Zimmerman Bar Mitzvah Tape'  ●  Live music: Carolyn Hester joined us from her home in Kansas City, Kansas, and performed two songs: Tommy Sands' 'Age Of Uncertainty' and Dylan's 'Ye Playboys & Playgirls', including the verses she added to the song. She and her daughter Amy were with us for over an hour and Carolyn also answered questions from Chris Cooper and others in the group. Carolyn also spoke of the bunch of flowers she gave Bob Dylan during his 30th Anniversary Celebrations at Madison Sq.
